What Are the Benefits of Vacuum Sealing Coffee?
The main benefit to vacuum sealing your beans or ground coffee is that it stays fresher for longer.
The normal shelf life for coffee is about 4 weeks, but if it’s been vacuum sealed and stored at room temperature that number can jump to around 16 months.
The freshness can be maintained because the airtight packaging means moisture stays out of your coffee beans or ground coffee.
Here are some more benefits:
- As vacuum sealing increases the longevity of coffee beans, you can also save money by bulk buying and storing vacuum sealed beans for future use.
- If you’re selling your own brand of coffee, you can also use our products to package your own beans for sale. A number of our customers vacuum seal items with our bags and sell their products that way.

*Please note: Typical storage life will vary depending on product quality and freshness at the time of packaging and all shelf lives noted are approximate.
Is it Easy to Vacuum Seal Coffee?
At Pac Food we have two machines which are suitable for vacuum sealing coffee. Those are the VS603 and the VS105.
While the VS305 is generally for small production processes or medium to heavy duty use at home, the VS100 is an economical option for domestic use.
They are both a high-quality machine and easy to operate.
Step 1: Firstly, you must decide if you want your beans to remain as is or be ground prior to sealing. If you want ground coffee, then this must be done before you go any further.
Then ensure your vacuum sealing bags, or roll (to create custom size bags) and machine are ready to go.
Step 2: Pour the coffee into your sealing bag while it’s on the scales until you’ve reached the desired weight. However, do not fill it right to the top as you will need an inch or two of space for vacuum sealing the bag.
Step 3: Once you’ve filled the bag, lay it down with the open edges over the heat-sealing band of the machine.
